Livelihood Enhancement through Technology Transfer

1. Training underprivileged cultivators in use of sustainable technologies (like vermin- compost processing), <br/> 2. Assisting in incubation of entrepreneurship in Agriculture and the formation of Producer Organisations for RuralYouth, <br/> 3. Organizing the formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs), and facilitating financial inclusion<br/> 4. Complementing various flagship Development Programmes like MGNREGA, SGSY initiated by the Central and State Government to help rural families enhance their livelihoods.

Training and Capacity Building

Trains underprivileged rural youth in agricultural marketing techniques, in digital technologies related to agri-marketing, in order to increase their job opportunities.

Evaluation Studies and Action Research

Evaluation and Impact Assessment Studies of Livelihood Enhancement Initiatives like Micro Finance Institutions and Women Empowerment under Credit and Savings for household enterprise (CASHE) Program and , government projects like Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) and other Participatory Action Research Projects.

Preparation of Draft Development Plans of 5 years’ validity (DDPs) for different municipalities

CTRD is a non profit organization established in 1993 with the object of disseminating technical knowledge to the underprivileged to enable them to enhance their livelihood opportunities in a sustainable manner. It was founded by an University Professor, engaged in Agricultural Extension and specialized in transmitting results of agricultural research to farmers. The organization was registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 (Registration No S/72875) and also under FCRA (Registration No 147120814 dated 07.07.2008). Subsequently it was joined by leading professionals with varied expertise from academic as well as corporate sectors to provide multidisciplinary support and integrated treatment to every project undertaken by the organization.

CTRD presently works in the areas of
